The Metro Map of the Ways of Saint James in the Iberian Peninsula was designed in 2022, based on the routes described by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Way of Saint James (FEAACS) and utilizing their specific nomenclature. Styled as a metro network map, each route features a unique, distinctive color, while the towns marking the start and end of each stage are represented as metro stations, with Santiago de Compostela serving as the main station.

Starting from a blank sheet, the goal was to create a map that was not only visually striking but also clearly legible and easy to interpret. The concept originated from observing wall maps found in hostels along the French Way, though the ultimate aim was to map out all existing Jacobean routes. Information gathered from the FEAACS website proved invaluable in this process.

The design principles applied to modele the map were the same used by most existing metro networks, being the most notable the iconic 1933 London Underground map. Using a specialized design software, and following a meticulous process of drafting and refining, the pieces of what had become a complex puzzle gradually fell into place. The final result is a beautiful map that perfectly meets the original objectives.

Plans are in place to print and distribute the map on high-quality photographic paper, allowing it to serve both as a practical stage planner and as a decorative poster. Initial print runs are limited to two standard sizes of 100x70 cm (B1) and 70x50 cm (B2), though other formats and sizes may be produced based on demand.
