Eastern Way, Manchego Way, Dawn Way, Holy Cross Way

The Eastern Way, Manchego Way, Dawn Way and Holy Cross Way form a network of Jacobean routes originating in the east and center of the Iberian Peninsula, specifically within the Valencian Community and Castile-La Mancha. The Eastern Way is the longest route and serves as the backbone of this network, while the other three are shorter routes that merge with the main path at various points along the way.

The Eastern Way is a Jacobean route that begins in the city of Valencia and ends in Zamora, where it joins the Silver Way. It traverses the provinces of Valencia, Albacete, Cuenca, Toledo, Madrid, Avila, Valladolid and Zamora, passing through the cities of Albacete, Toledo and Avila. Along its course, it intersects with other Jacobean routes coming from southeastern Spain, most notably the Southeastern Way, with which it shares certain alternating sections.

The Manchego Way is a Jacobean route that starts in Ciudad Real and ends in Toledo, from where pilgrims can continue along either the Eastern Way or the Southeastern Way. The route runs consistently northward through these two provinces of La Mancha, following paths that have been in use since ancient times, dating back at least to the period of Arabic rule.

The Dawn Way is a Jacobean route established through a personal initiative, that begins in the coastal town of Javea and ends in Almansa. Heading west across the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Albacete, it passes through mountainous areas of exceptional beauty, such as the Serpis River canyon. Upon reaching Almansa, pilgrims can continue along either the Eastern Way or the Wool Way.

The Holy Cross Way is considered a variant of the Eastern Way that, starting at San Clemente, diverges via La Alberca de Zancara and Belmonte before rejoining the main route at Quintanar de la Orden. It is based on the pilgrimage to Santiago undertaken by Friar Francisco de la Cruz in the 17th century and traverses the provinces of Cuenca and Toledo.
